10,000 Watt Home Standby Generator CSA/UL Approved
For those who feel portable generators don’t produce enough power and larger standby generators are just too big and expensive this 10,000 watt generator fits right in the middle. You get all the benefits of the smaller size while having all the features of those bigger standby generators. With some power management during a blackout the majority of the population can easily manage large home appliance use and never exceed the 10,000 watt limit of this standby generator.
This 10,000 watt generator uses a 3 cylinder farm tractor engine. It is built to work hard and last a long time. It drives a generator head that is better then what most others use since it is CSA and UL approved you know it has passed some if North Americas highest electrical standards.
The engine consumes less than 0.5 gallons of diesel per hour under full load. It is a clean burning three cylinder diesel engine that has received current year EPA certification. Since it meets new current emission standards it runs cleaner and quieter. The emissions are clear and far better for our environment then older designs.
The engine is based on Isuzu technology and is made by Laidong. The model number is KM385. This is the same engine used in farm tractors and other heavy machinery. It is a slow turning 1800 rpm diesel and water / radiator cooled engine. You can expect a minimum of 10,000 hours life out of it before it requires rebuilding. With proper care you can extend the life indefinitely. Since it uses replaceable cylinder liners, engine overhaul is easier than ever.
Construction:
This generator is designed to be installed outside. To help protect your investment, automotive grade weather stripping is used around all doors and the panel windows. With the door closed you can easily check engine and alternator status. The gauges are large and easy to read. At the same time the included Smartgen brand generator controller also monitors generator status and will shut it down if a fault is detected. The same controller is also able to start the engine automatically or manually. For those who wish to connect this generator to our fully automatic transfer switch, the connection are already prewired to make installation easier.
The generator controller also displays the number of hours that the generator has run, to the nearest 1/10 hour. This makes it easier to tell when service such as oil changes maybe required. Warm up and cool down periods are also programmable.

Laidong KM385 2010 EPA
Huayuan Laidong Engine Company manufactures small and medium power diesel engines. Laidong has been building engines since 1943 and has over 5000 employees and 700,000 square meter facilities. Laidong is one of the first companies to meet new EPA Tier 4 emission standards for the United States. The engine is used around the world and are now even replaces the popular Yangdong engines found in Jinma farm tractors made up to 2010.
This Laidong model KM385 engine is a popular three cylinder diesel that is great for generators under 12 kw. It meets our quality standards and is very cost effective. With a lifespan of over 10,000 hours use it makes it unnecessary for most customers to spend any more. Most will never exceed 10,000 hours use. If you do exceed this time the engine can easily be rebuilt or replaced for less than you would pay for any other. Parts cost little and can often be delivered to you in seven days.
