Converting engines to propane and natural gas is
simple and nothing new. What is done today is the same thing done 30
years ago. Most engines that now run on natural gas or propane
actually started out as gasoline engines. One of the reasons after
market conversions are so popular is that factory conversions are more
expensive vs the do it yourself kit
Most
people who convert a generator to propane or natural gas do so because
this fuel does not go bad like gasoline. Gasoline is hard to store and
will break down. Natural Gas and Propane are always ready to be used
and a normal BBQ tank will run a small generator for over 24 hours.
Propane
and Natural Gas running engines burn
cleaner than gasoline. You will not find carbon deposits in the engine
or on the
spark plug. The fuel is already in a gas state rather then gasoline it
runs better, easier and more efficiently. No fuel system gumming up or
gasoline to go stale. If you think about it, most don't use their
generators for months at a time. Natural Gas and Propane would always
be ready to use.
If
you hook it up to your home supply you know you will never run out of
fuel. Supplies to homes even run in a blackout since the gas companies
use backup generators to pump the fuel.
Propane and Natural Gas produce less carbon monoxide emissions, no smoke and it is far better for the environment.
You can easily switch back to gasoline at anytime. Just turn off one supply and turn on the other. It is that easy.
