Generator Panel
When starting this generator you have two options. You can use a key switch like you do when starting a car or you can use the included remote control. Notice the key switch has “heat” position. Heating is very important if you own a diesel generator. Heating warms up the engine intake air to help start in cooler climates. Without preheating engines do not start as easily as this does.
Higher quality longer lasting vibration resistant volt meter is used on these generators. You can adjust the voltage for use in different countries including the frequency from 60 Hz. to 50 Hz. The digital hour meter helps you keep track of when to change the oil or perform other maintenance.
There are three types of outlets so you have more options when connecting to things. RVs, Transfer Switches or home appliances for example.
Electrical Wiring
One of the biggest advantages of owning an Aurora Generator is that there is no CCA wiring used. CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) looks like copper on the outside, but in the inside it is aluminum. Too many other companies use this lower cost wiring. The dealer or customer don’t even realize what they have until it fails. It is the main cause of alternator / generator failure. Aurora Generators only use copper wiring.
Any wiring in contact with the engine, susceptible to heat or solvents such as fuel and oil spills have extra protection surrounding it. Braided fiberglass sleeves make it capable of withstanding temperatures up to 700 degrees and further help wiring insulation from becoming brittle or frail and breaking down. It is the same type of material used in the space industry.
Cold Start Pre-Heater
Pre-heater can be turned on to pre-heat air fuel mixture for easier cold starting. Warming the air fuel mixture helps it to vaporize in the combustion chamber and helps eliminate any starting difficulties traditionally found on other generators that don’t use one.
Remote Starter
The built-in remote control gives you wireless control over the generator starting function. As a backup you can still use the electric key start like you would on traditional generators. Aurora generators remotes consume less power during standby to prolonging battery life and are built much better, here’s why.
The unique Aurora design uses larger 30 amp crank relays not 20 like other. 3 ic chips for better crank timing, monitoring and control. More expensive modular design with easy to disconnect wiring harness make it simple to service, replace in case of lost matching key-chain remote or even upgrade to a four channel remote for additional control over engine preheating. With other brand remotes they control crank timing by a RC (Resistive Capacitance) timing circuit that is dependent on voltage. Battery voltage does drop when it is weak so their methods often result in engine and starter damage. Just another reason to buy Aurora brand generators!
Noise
These types of generators are often referred to as silent. That is because they are much quieter then their open frame versions or a gas equivalent. Aurora Generators are even quieter in competition for a few reasons. Aurora uses higher quality insulation, heavier enclosures and a better muffler system. Two mufflers and a combination flex pipe / catalytic converter is used here. The exhaust is clear and cool. Emissions are cleaner then from a gasoline generator and are safer for the environment. Stinky black smoke something you should only see on other generators.
Spare Filters
We include a free set of spare air and oil filters. The oil filter is washable and can be reused a few times. Oil changes are normally done after the first 25 hours then every 100 hours for longer life.
